If you're in a crisis
If you are in danger right now, or you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, please stop reading and contact someone who can help today.
Rea is not an emergency service
Nobody is monitoring your sessions. Rea cannot call anyone for you, cannot send help to you, and cannot reach you outside a session you started yourself.
It is available at any hour, and that can make it feel like the nearest thing to hand at three in the morning. Being available is not the same as being able to help in an emergency.
Who to contact
Contact a licensed clinician or emergency services. In the US, call 911 if someone is in immediate danger.
If it is not an emergency but you do not want to be alone with it, free confidential lines are open around the clock in most countries, including text-based ones if talking out loud is too much. Search for the crisis line where you live.
If you can, tell one person near you what is going on. You do not have to explain it well.
Find a licensed therapistWhat Rea will do
If something you say suggests you are at risk, Rea will say plainly that this is beyond what it can help with and point you toward a licensed clinician or emergency services. It will not pretend it can carry it.
It will not hang up on you, and it will not lecture you. But please treat what it says as a signpost, not as help arriving.
