What Rea is

Rea is software. It is not a person, it has no life of its own, and it does not remember you the way a person would.

Rea is a language model

Underneath, Rea is a large language model: a system trained to produce a likely next sentence. It is very good at sounding like it understands you, because sounding that way is exactly what it was trained to do.

It keeps notes between sessions so it can pick up where you left off. Those notes are written by the same kind of model, from a recording of what was said.

It can be wrong

It can misremember. It can misread your tone. It can state something with complete confidence and be flatly mistaken about it. That includes things about you, and things you told it yourself.

This is not a bug we are close to fixing. It is a property of how the technology works today, and it is why we would rather tell you plainly than let you find out at a bad moment.

What that means for you

Take what Rea says as a starting point rather than the last word. If it says something about you that does not sound right, it probably is not right. Say so, and it will work from what you tell it.

For anything that matters (your health, your money, your safety, a decision you cannot undo), check it with a qualified person.
